KPIs by source, employee and branch: where do you start?

Most dashboards fail not because of technology, but because of definitions. Start with the decision you want to make and work backwards to the number.

Start with the decision, not the data

For each role, write down which weekly decision needs to improve: where do I put marketing budget, who gets which lead, which branch needs help. Every number on your dashboard should support at least one of those decisions.

Define once, use everywhere

A lead, an opportunity and an order need to mean the same thing in every system. Nail down definitions before you connect systems, or you'll be building disagreements in rather than out.

Four dimensions are enough to start

Source, employee, branch and partner deliver the most insight in practice. If you can slice by those four dimensions, you can almost always see where the profit or the loss sits.

Want to apply this in your own organisation?

We start with a baseline assessment: which decisions do you want to make better, and which numbers do you need for that?
